7 February 2011, Empire Bay, NSW: On Sunday afternoon, 6th February, over 500 local residents gathered at The Empire Bay Tavern to show their support for the Queensland flood and cyclone victims. The scheduled entertainment had to be altered, it rained and then a black-out threatened to shut the whole event down. But despite it all, the community rallied and the afternoon turned into a fabulous success. Over $6,000 in prizes were raffled, the drinks flowed and the sizzling sausages sold out – in record time!
We’re proud to announce that over $4,500 was raised from the afternoon’s proceedings.

A huge thank-you to all our supporters, the businesses who donated items and everyone who came to the “Tav” for what truly was a memorable afternoon, for a worthy cause.
